We are delighted to announce the appointment of Amrat Khorana as our new Chief Executive Officer from 1 June 2026.
A biomedical scientist by background, Amrat brings leadership experience across healthcare, education, regulation and the charity sector. Most recently, he served as Chief Executive of the ECR Foundation, where he led programmes supporting communities through education, care, digital inclusion and social impact initiatives.
This work included supporting people living with PWS and their families through digital skills development, employment support and improved access to healthcare services.
Alongside his executive leadership experience, Amrat currently serves as Chair of Support 4 Sight and as a Trustee of Action Against Medical Accidents. He also holds non-executive roles with Social Work England and the Association of Child Psychotherapists, contributing to work focused on professional standards, public protection and improving outcomes across health and care services.
Amrat also brings a personal connection to the PWS community through his second nephew, whose diagnosis gave a human reality to the science and genetics he studied at university and encountered throughout his scientific career. This experience has strengthened his commitment to person-centred support, inclusion, and improving opportunities and outcomes for people living with PWS and their families.
As we welcome Amrat to IPWSO, we also extend our heartfelt thanks to Margaret for her leadership and commitment as CEO. Her guidance of the organisation, its boards and committees has helped shape and strengthen IPWSO’s work in for the past year. Thank you, Margaret!
