IPWSO Project ECHO® Programme
Project ECHO® is a key enabler to IPWSO’s strategy to grow and strengthen the PWS community. Through online learning and knowledge sharing we work to reduce global inequality in the availability of treatments, services and information for people with PWS and their families.
IPWSO’s mission is to unite the Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS) community globally. We want to build a knowledge network and to reach underserved populations so that everyone, everywhere, knows about the best social care and medical treatments available to people with PWS.
Collectively, we believe, we can find solutions to the challenges of the syndrome and together we can help to share best practice and build centres of excellence in PWS across the world.
In collaboration with the University of New Mexico’s Project ECHO® initiative, we are pleased to offer free online tele-mentoring programmes designed to support health and allied professionals, parents, caregivers, families, PWS Associations and people who wish to form groups to raise awareness and advocate for the needs of people with PWS.
Our previous educational programmes included a Leadership, a Health, an SWP Latino Américan and a Caregivers* ECHO. Each was aimed at a different group of participants. Video presentations from all ECHO sessions are linked on the right.
Our most recent ECHO® programme was the IPWSO Mental Health ECHO® 2023, which concluded in September. As further programmes are determined they will be announced here.
*With the exception of the Caregivers’ ECHO, these programmes have received support under a medical education grant from Pfizer Inc. For further information see our Acknowledgements section below.
