Workshop Summaries

In May 2024 the Professional Providers and Caregivers Board (PPCB) of IPWSO hosted the 6th International Caregivers’ Conference in Berlin, Germany, attended by 130 people.

The conference included 6 intensive workshops on the topics below. The documents linked here summarise the key points and takeways from each of the workshops. We hope they serve to provide a bite-sized overview of the issues discussed, so that those who were unable to travel to Berlin can also benefit from the conference.

A key theme of the conference was that it was a conference by PWS caregivers, for PWS caregivers. Each workshop was designed to be a collaborative environment for professional caregivers from across the globe to exchange practice-driven knowledge and actively contribute their own experiences to enhance the care they provide and develop new methods of support in an ever-changing world.

• Hot topics were not off the table.
• There were “no right or wrong” answers.
• Caregivers shared their own observations.
• Participants were encouraged and supported to engage in respectful discussions, and ask questions!

We hope that sharing some of the content and knowledge from these workshops helps to spark discussion amongst professional providers of care everywhere.
